Water Heritage Museum – I intended to create a community and pedestrian friendly project while reflecting upon the industrial heritage of the site. Therefore, I decided a raised volume utilising the existing structure was the best way to achieve this. To add social value to the local area I wanted not only to create a museum but a functioning recreational centre for use of the harbour water utilising sustainable filtration methods to filter the water into an open-air pool. Ultimately, I felt the project not only carried the brief of a museum but created a high value community space.

Longshaw SeedBank - I intended to deliver a landscape friendly project while also utilising smart passive environmental methods of cooling, ventilation and heating. Using prominent wind cowls in the project to passively ventilate as well as using large vertical glasshouses to grow plants as well as act as large sunspaces. Utilising stack ventilation to cycle heat throughout the buildings during the late afternoon and evening. I used the existing hillside to insulate the seed vault and maintain low stable temperatures during storage.
