My thesis explores the creation of a Development Company in Sheffield - 'Retrofit North'. The company will focus on the retrofit of existing buildings to create developments which find the greatest potential in what is already available on a site, and save the embodied carbon. The schemes will prioritise making environments which allow people and nature to thrive.

My project takes this model and applies it to Cannon Brewery, a large urban block in the north of Sheffield, turning it into a mixed scheme that includes a headquarters for Retrofit North. A house for the people, made by the people.
