Rotterdam Museum of Water
The building is made up of four blocks that each have a different relationship to the site within Rotterdam. An outdoor public space as well as views across the Canal and towards the river Maas provide a strong connection to the bodies of water surrounding the site. Within the museum, visitors circulate between the towers via a large atrium space containing suspended platforms and staircases. The lightweight atrium contrasts with the heavy brickwork towers which contain the exhibitions allowing visitors to feel as if they are walking in and out of very different spaces as they navigate the museum.
