Museum of Water

The building aims to take users on a journey, showcasing exhibits about the past, present and future stages of water. A main design feature within the building is a blue/green roof that forms part of an exhibition on water purification. The harvested rainwater is filtered through pipes and is purified, with the whole process on display to the users. With the design I wanted to keep the existing buildings on the site and for my building to become a new landmark in the area. There was also a boat dock on the site that I wanted to keep access to. This informed the final design that cantilevers over the edge of the harbour (allowing access to the boat dock underneath).
